You are more likely to be well if you attach more importance
to the living of your life than to the illness you think defines you!

Integrated Health Concepts

Bringing Science and Nature into balance

Welcome to Integrated Health Concepts (IHC).  Our philosophy is simple.  We will try the most natural, medically appropriate approach first.  We feel that our role in your health is one of support and empowerment.  The ultimate responsibility for your health lies within you.  It is your right to be well.  It is a balance of Mind-Body-Spirit.  People seek medical help with the mixed-up notion that if the doctor with vast abilities and knowledge of pharmaceuticals can prescribe, cut, and/or otherwise relieve the patient of disease, then their life will somehow be better.  To us here at IHC that is backwards.  If you bring balance to your life, choose to be happy and ground your life in love, good health will follow.  Our mission is to help people accept well-being.

The US ranks 37th in the World Health Organization ranking of health systems, just behind Dominica and Costa Rica and in front of Slovenia.  After 100 years of astronomical advances in healthcare we are fatter, have more disease than ever before, and for the first time in humanity we will not live as long as our parents.  We cannot afford the care we have developed, and when we can, it is overpriced and usually devoid of love, empathy and thoughtfulness.  Don’t you think it is time to change?

The Healthcare system

The system is not necessarily broken, it is over-used.  The US has the best healthcare when it comes to acute care, intensive care and surgery.  Do not blame the system for the current problems.  People need to take responsibility for the own health.

People need to understand that they are in control.  They can choose wellness or disease.  Simple choices will change your life.  Eat organic foods whenever possible, and fresh, local whole foods the other times.  Avoid any processed foods.  Drink one-half your body weight in ounces of water daily.  Exercise daily, meditate or otherwise relax.  Know you are loved.

Mind

At IHC we know happiness doesn’t come from a pill.  It starts with an inner stillness and peace.  I have never seen an antidepressant fix a troubled marriage or a stressful job.  But I have seen empowered people change seemingly unchangeable situations.  Inner stillness doesn’t come from a bottle—it begins from the understanding that you can change.  Change yourself, and thus your life.  We will support you through these fearful times with our wonderful associates, and yes—if needed—medications, both natural and synthetic.  But remember:  the outcome depends upon your willingness to change, to allow love in and to forgive.

Body

I see my role in your health as your personal consultant.  I will use science to help evaluate how your body is working.  I feel it is crucial to assess where your health is now.  This gives us a starting point, and the ability to track changes.  It is also important to evaluate your biochemical and neurohormonal systems.  I will generally check any medically necessary lab tests after our first visit.   We will then discuss any opportunities that may exist for improvements.  My personal philosophy is to achieve optimal levels of these markers, not merely a result within the normal range.  Again, we will start with the most natural therapy first.  If we can achieve optimal functioning of these systems you have a much better chance of lasting and meaningful change.

Spirit

IHC has a Certified Spiritual Director on site.  Yet that is only a part of the team.  Our daily intention is for our entire staff to approach you with love, understanding and support in order to provide the best atmosphere to foster change and to live the example.
